In the present paper the effect of light on the ratio of the eupyrene andapyrene sperm, and on the length of the eupyrene sperm bundle in the silkworm, Bombyx mori, are reported. Each batch of eggs was divided into three groups, control and experimental groups. In the experimental groups the ocelli are coated with the black lacquer in the fourth or fifth instar. The experiments as well as the control groups were cultured in the same condition. The ratio between the eupyrene and apyrene sperm E/A, and the length of the eupyrene sperm bundle are small in the experimental groups in comparison with the control. The results show that the effect of light is mainly accepted by the ocelli, and agree with the results reported in the provious paper (Hirano, '59, '60) in the point that the ratio E/A and the length of sperm bundle are influenced by the light condition.
