Stratum compactum of the corium in tadpoles of Rana catesbiana is able to be divided into two layers. The upper layer consists of connective tissue fibers running irregularly, and the lower layer consists of latticed fibers. In the upper part of the former layer a great deal of granules stained blue with Hematoxylin are seen, and through the latter layer the fine fivers pass vertically.
