The changes in the fore wing length and in other characterisitc parts of a grasshopper, Oxya japonica Willemse, caused by the parasitism of a species of Mermitata, not yet identified, are described in the present report. (1) So far as the writer has observed, the genitalia of both sexes do not indicate any tendencies of changing through the parasitism. (2) Length of the pronotum is not changed through the parasitism. (3) The wing has a tendency to shorten through the parasitism: in the extreme cases, some examples have very short wings. But there is no direct correlation between the wing length and the number of the parasites. The effects of the parasitism seem to be considerably related to the times of infection and the parasitized parts of the host's body.
