The chromosomes werw studied in seven species of the Myrmeleonoidea (Neuroptera). The chromosome numbers of the species under study and the sex-chromosome mechanism of the X-Y type are given in Table 1. The basic number of 14 in the Myrmeleonidae and that of 16 in the Dendrolioninae was suggested. Interesting is the fact that the Palparinae which is thought as the most primitive one in the Neuroptera possesses the largest chromosome number so far observed in this order. The occurrence of the V-shaped centriole was ascertained in Hagenomyia micans. Table 1.
