1.Gregarina minor n. sp. Host: Allecula fuliginosa MAEKLIN, Location: Kaminoseki, Yamaguti Prefecture, Habitat: Intestine. The adult sporonts are biassociative. The animals are very small and elongate ovoidal. The largest association measured 75μ in length while sporonts averaged 35μ in length and 15μ in width. The average ratio (primite) of LP:TL=1:4, and the ratio of WP:WD=1.:1.2. The Protomerite of the primite is hemispherical, widest at the middle portion, and a litle wider than high. It is well rounded in front. There is a fairly deep constriction at the septum. The deutomerite is elongate ovoidal widest at the shoulder and from here tapering slightly, ending in a broadly rounded extremity. The protomerite of the satellite has flattened top and bottom. The constriction at the septum is visible. The deutomerite is oval in shape, ending in a very broadly rounded extremity. The body is pearl gray in color, the protoplasm is not homogeneous but contains of large and small granules. The epicyte is very thin, longitudinal striations are seen on the surface. The nucleus is small and spherical, 5-6μ in diameter, containing one karyosome. The movement is not so active. The epimerite of a trophozoite is spherical, papilla like. The cysts are spherical, 32μ in average diameter. Spores have not been observed. 2.Pileocephalus suhoensis n. sp. Host: Allecula fuliginosa MAEKLIN, Locaton: Naruto, Hikari and Kaminoseki, Yamaguti prefecture, Habitat: Intestine. The sporonts are solitary, the body stout, elongate cylindrical. The maximum recorded length 1200μ, the average length 500μ, and the width 120μ. The ratio of LP:TL=1:7-8 and the average ratio of WP:WD=1:1.4. The protomerite is dome-shaped and there is a conical projection at its center of the rounded free end. The protomerite is widest at the base. A constriction is present at the septum. The deutomerite is elongate cylindrical, widens gradually and is widest at onethird of its length from the septum. From here the deutomerite tapers gradually, ending in a blunt posterior extremity. The nucleus is ellipsoidal and large, 60×20μ. It is invisible in vivo and contains 1-3 karyosomes. The epicyte is thick, especially at the anterior region of the protomerite and at the septum. Longitudinal striations are visible. The body is brown to black in color. The endocyte is dark but the protomerite is paler in color than the deutomerite. The anterior portion of the protomerite and the epimerite is transparent. The epimerite of the young trophozoite is peculiar in form, having an elongate, lance-shaped papilla at the end of a bulbous neck which is projected from the central portion of the anterior end of the protomerite. Cysts and sproes have not yet been encountered.
