(1) Studying the Heart pulsation of an oyster (Cstrea circumpicta Pilsbry), I have found there is antagnistic reaction between Ca, Mg and Na ions against K ion and these ratio are as follors: Ca, Mg, Na: K=1.4, 6.0, 16.4 respectively. (2) These ratio resemble, on the whole, the percentage of Ca, Mg ions contained in sea-water though that of Na ion against K ion is much less than the quantity of the same ion contained in sea-water. (3) These results, I think, depend greatly on the evnronment of the oyster even if there is some specific deviation of the pulsation caused by the physiological character of the oyster.
