With the recent explosive growth in electronic businesses over the internet, electronic transactions require protection against false denial of a party having been involved in all or part of the communication. Non-repudiation services provide such protection using cryptographic means such as digital signatures and time stamping. During the engagement of non-repudiation services, evidences are generated so as to facilitate the settlement of disputes if any arises. Several proposed non-repudiation protocols support basic requirements like non-repudiation of origin and non-repudiation of receipt while maintaining fairness through-out a protocol run. However, most schemes do not address the critical issue on how to minimise the workload of trusted third parties and the validity of evidence generated. This paper uses the idea of evidence chaining and certificate inclusion to address such problems.
