This paper proposes a downlink beamforming method for multimedia CDMA/TDD systems. The proposed method determines the transmission weights so that the total transmitted power is minimized under a power-controlled CDMA system. In the decision process of downlink beamforming, each user's target signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and the number of RAKE fingers are considered. Simulation results show that the proposed method reduces transmitted power of base station and enhances the capacity of multimedia CDMA systems.
