In this paper we propose a mobile positioning method based on a recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm for suppressing the non-line of sight (NLOS) effccts in cellular systems. The proposed method finds the position of a mobile station from TOAs measured by three BSs. Simulation results show that the proposed method has a fast convergence time and greatly reduces the positioning error especially in NLOS situations. Thus it is expected that the proposed method can be effectively used in a dense urban environment.
