Aiming at a wearable finger-Braille communication aid, we developed a system with acceleration sensors. They were attached to each of three fingers of each hand to receive the information of finger movements. The analysis of finger motion of finger-Braille showed that there was a big difference between acceleration strength in case of tapping and that in case of idling. Based on the findings above, we developed a method to differentiate between signals of busy fingers and those of idle fingers. Evaluation tests showed that the Braille code identification rate was 99 percent.
