Large Third Order Nonlinear Optical Response of Exciton by Controlling the Thickness of GaAs Thin Films(Special Issue on Advanced Optical Devices for Next Generation Photonic Networks)

We demonstrate a large nonlinear optical response of GaAs thin films using degenerate four-wave mixing(DFWM) with picosecond pulses. The obtained DFWM signal is thickness-dependent and peaks at around 110nm. The nonlocal theory fully explains these results.
