To restore the detailed structure of the whole large object by composing partially acquired local shapes, it is necessary to develop easy and high precision calibration method of the external parameter of 3D measuring system. We developed a self-calibration system in active stereo method using crossing laser slit projector. After the laser projector and the camera system are arranged in suitable position, those high precision external parameters can be acquired easily by applying this calibration method just before shape acquisition. Therefore, acquisition of high-resolution local shape by moving the projector and the camera system freely and a high precision restoration become possible.
