A simple exact solution method for return link capacity allocation scheduling in a satellite interactive network using a hybrid CDMA/TDMA scheme is developed. The objective is defined as the total amount that is not assigned to terminals out of the total amount that is requested by terminals. The resource allocation problem is mathematically formulated as a binary integer programming problem. In order to improve the computational efficiency the problem is decomposed into two sub-problems and then exactly solved within a few milliseconds. Because of computational efficiency and solution optimality, the proposed method can be utilized for resource management in practical systems.
