On 22 August 1485, Henry Tudor defeated Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth and was crowned Henry VII of England after his victory. He was one quarter Welsh, one quarter French and half English in origin. He was told by Welsh poets and bards as Son of Prophecy, the true heir of the ancient British Kings (Arthur and Cadwaladre) and he believed their pronouncements. Strong national sentiments also existed in Wales in favour of Henry Tudor. Therefore the reign of Henry VII has been estimated as the significant importance in the history of England and Wales. The Author of this article in detail his relations with Wales before and after he crowned, examined the following problems. 1) The character and environment of the comprehensive, effective and enthusiastic support given by Welsh poets including the bards to Henry Tudor before and after his victory at Bosworth Field. 2) The fact that Henry Tudor won his crown on his march from Wales with considerable help from Welsh gentries and the marcher's lords.
