• In this paper, we present a dependence-based representation called aspect-oriented software dependence graph, that extends previous dependence graphs, to represent dependencies in aspect-oriented software. The aspect-oriented software dependence graph consists of three parts:(1)a software dependence graph for nonaspect code, (2)a group of aspect dependence graphs for aspect code, and(3)some additional dependence arcs used to connect the software dependence graph to the aspect dependence graphs. We also discuss some applications of the aspect-oriented software dependence graph in developing software engineering tools to support program slicing, testing, and debugging.
