Two species of fungi newly discovered are described.1. Spiroidium fuscum nov. gen. et nov. spec.Colonies at first white, then bluish yellow, finally brown. Acrial mycelium thin, rarely sepated, 1.5〜2μ in diameter. Conidiophores spirally branched. Oidia in several forms, smooth, 2〜3μ, brown when aggregated.The spiral branching of conidiophores is the characteristic of the genus, distinguishing it from Oospora and Thermoidium. Found on infected agar plate.2. Penicillium luteo-coeruleum nov. spec.Colonies bluish greeen or blue, then gray, with yellbw patches. Reverse at first yellow, finally bluish finally bluish green, with yellow margin. Hyphae septate, deep yellow or blue, with granulated surface. Conidiophores septatc, colorless or yellow; surface granular. Biverticillatc. Metulae 3〜5 in number, each 10×5μ. Sterigmata 10×3〜4μ; Conidia oval, smooth, in long chain. Isolated from corn cob and rice cake.
