Experiments on the stability, precipitability, color reaction, hygroscopic properties and paper strip chromatography of bacitracin and fradiomycin were carried out and the following results were obtained.In the dry state there was no loss of activities of bacitracin and fradiomycin after 24 months at room temperature. The complex buffered solution of bacitracin and fradiomycin showed reasonably food stability after 3 days at room temperature.Bacitracin and fradiomycin are very hygroscopic.Bacitracin gave the biuret, ADAMKIEWITZ, MILLON and MOLISCH reactions and reduced potassium permanganate and bromide solutions, and it was precipitated by tannic, salicylic and picric acids and the MEYER and iodine reagents.Fradiomycin gave the MOLISCH, carbazole and ninhydrin ractions and it was precipitated by picric and sulfonic acids and REINECKE's reagent.Rf values of bacitracin and fradiomycin against each solvent are shown in Table IV.
