The influences of various lighting conditions on the stability of pure riboflavin solution were studied.It was found that the rate of photo-decomposition chiefly depended on pH, concentration, temperature, wave length and intensity of light.When exposed to direct daylight, riboflavin was very quickly decomposed, especially in summer.Diffused daylight had hardly any effect.The rate of decomposition became larger, as the concentration of riboflavin solution was smaller and pH was larger.The coloring of vessels had some protecting effects in the mild lighting conditions.As the results of experiments using the artificial light which passed fhrough red-, green-and violet glass filters, and light had no ill effect. But riboflavin was destroyed by violet light as much as by whole light.
