1. As a model experiment of the effect of resistants on slope upon soil erosion, we measured the terminal run-off velocity in case of 170 cc/sec discharge on board slope of 60 cm length and 20 cm width (Fig. 1.) with various resistants of nails of 3 cm length (Fig. 2.), and showed the result on Table 1.2. On the relation between the terminal velocity v (cm/sec) and the degree of slope S (%), the next formula is derived (Fig. 3.).v=aS^b, b<1 where a, b=constant 3. The larger the area of resistants the smaller the terminal velocity becomes (Fig. 4.), and the steeper the slope the smaller the effect of the area of resistants becomes.4. The lower situation of resistants on slope is more effective than the upper situation (Fig. 5.), and the steeper the slope the smaller the difference of velocity by situation becomes. The resistants on lower 1/4 section of slope is more effective than those on upper 3/4 section.5. The upper situation of resistants rapidly increase its effect beyond the half area of slope, but the lower situation of resistants up to the half area of slope.6. The zigzag arrangement of resistants is more effective than the checkers arrangement, and probably the steeper the slope the greater the difference of velocity by arrangement becomes.7. As the ranks of influence on the terminal run-off velocity, the gradient of slope comes first, the area of resistants second, the situation of resistants third and the arrangement of resistants last.
