Modern researchers and/or engineers may not have a chance to look back how we could get through the path to the major power in magnetic devices. Therefore we can not be familiar with the culture of magnetism. In this contribution, textbooks at the initial stage of learning and some technical arts in the magnetism are introduced. In Japan, there are few people who think research and industry as cultural properties or inheritance. On the other hand, in Europe and America, they carefully treat their literature, research notebooks, drawings, and experimental tools regarding to research and industry as cultural assets. In order to maintain such kind of culture, it is important for us to understand the Western machinery culture of research and industry and to be familiar with it keeping the balance of reservation and creation in our society. That is expected especially for younger generation which will owe 21st century. Besides what is introduced here, there are lots of interesting topics regarding magnetics. Searching them is one of my recommendations.
