Thermal expansion of α-Mn has been measured at high pressures up to 2.2 GPa in order to examine the relation between the instability of antiferromagnetism and the magnetovolume effect. It is found that T_N goes down and the magnitude of spontaneous volume magnetostriction becomes small as pressure increases. The antiferromagnetism of α-Mn is suggested as disappearin below 5 GPa.
