• The evolution of GE dry low NO_X combustors utilizing the concept of fuel-air premixing began in the early 1970's. A prototype combustion system was successfully demonstrated in an operating gas turbine in 1980 to be capable of meeting the U.S. EPA New Source Performance Standards and has since been refined to be capable of meeting 25 ppmv NO_X at 15 percent 02 in an MS9001E machine fired on natural gas fuel. A description of the system is presented along with emission performance curves.
