Seismic behavior of repaired reinforced concrete (RC) structures is difficult to evaluate by purely analytical means. Using experimental simulation of the inelastic restoring force properties by HYLSER (Hybrid Loading System of Earthquake Response), we investigated the effects of different repair techniques on the stiffness-deteriorating process and energy-absorbing capacity of the repaired test specimens. Three repair methods were used, and the behavior of the repaired specimens was compared with previously tested specimens. Results show that the stiffness deterioration of the repaired specimens resembled that of the unrepaired originals when suitable repair methods were used. Energy-absorbing capabilities also were regained for adequately repaired specimens.
