The aim of this research is to find how the HET Test contributes to improving knowledge and skills of junior college and senior high school students in home economics. A modified test which was conformed to the evaluation standards of the HET Test was given. The findings are as follows : 1. Family circumstances have no effect on the results of the test. 2. As far as the junior college students are concerned, the total hours of home economics lessons received in their senior high school days have no effect on the results of the test. But the students who received the certificate have better marks (being excellent especially at planning menus) than those who haven't. 3. As far as the senior high school students (all have certificates) are concerned, the difference in the grade of the certificate has no effect on the results of the test except that the dispersion of demerit of those who have second grade certificate is less than that of those who have third and fourth grade certificates.
