A survey was made about diets and attitudes of college students, high school students, nurses and student nurses of ages from 15 to 25 in two dormitories. Observations and recommendations are following : 1) Every dormitory diets did not meet the allowances; 95% of calory, 94% of protein, 60% of calcium, 46% of vitamin A, 89% of thiamine, 61% of riboflavin and 71% of ascorbic acid to the allowances were filled, on the average. 1) Charge for the boarding was different among dormitories, covering 53% to 96% of the theoretically minimal food expenses of the boarding which should be covered by the allowances. 3) Most boarders disatisfied with their dormitory diets. Although the reasons for their dissatisfactiol with the diets and their eating between meals, and how much they spent money for it were different in sexes ages, occupations and regions, the principal reason was that the diets did not meet their tastes Most of the boys ate between meals in hunger and most of the girls did it to kill time for some othar rsasons. Few of the boarders had an interest in nutrition and were eager to improve diets. 5) Though the girls used to have more required subjects on foods and murition at school than boys, there were no significant differences in nutritive attitudes. This is a great challenge to our home economists who are teaching about food and nutrition, we feel.
