An experimental investigation was made on the hold-up, frictional pressure drop and flow pattern of nearly-equal-density oil-water mixture flow in a horizontal capillary tube to make clear the flow mechanism. As a result, it became clear that the overall wave characteristics of oil-water mixture flow were obtained from the FFT analysis of the output signals of hold-up and pressure drop, the details of interfacial wave around oil plug, such as the configuration in nose and tail of oil plug, from wavelet analysis of both signals. In particular, the wavelet analysis with a fine time resolution was quite effective means to make clear the interfacial behavior around oil plug.
