An exact analytical formulation has been developed for the solution of radiative transport problem in a long cylindrical enclosure containing gray absorbing, emitting and scattering medium. The radiative properties within the medium are inhomogeneous and assumed to vary spatially with radial direction. Present formulation is more elegant and less involved than those reported by previous investigators. Results generated from the present method have been compared with the collapsed dimension method.
