This paper describes with the ride comfort of Shinkansen high-speed train. In order to reduce lateral vibration of Shinkansen trains, the semi-active vibration central system and the longitudinal dampers between adjacent cars are adopted. The dampers' character (coefficient, stiffness) was designated by computer simulation analysis using a train set model. It was verified that the lateral riding comfort level was decreased by 5dB at the midle cars.
