This paper describes the characteristics of tactile sensation which were measured under vibratory-pin stimulation. A two-point diserimination and sensation scaling were investigated by using two vibratory pins that were driven at varied interval distances, frequencies and amplitudes. The results of psychophysical procedures indicated that the two-point threshold was smaller at 250 Hz stimulation than 50 Hz, and the number of discriminable steps of sensation intensity was larger at 250 Hz than that observed at 50 Hz. These results support to adopt 250 Hz for the frequency of driving tactile display.
