In recent years, light weight and high stiffness fiber-reinforced composite materials are widely used in structural components. Composite cylindrical shells made of anisotropic materials have different elastic properties depending upon the fibre-directions. In this report, the influence of fibre-directions and laminations on the natural frequencies for laminated composite cylindrical shells simmply supported at both ends are discussed. The numerical calculations of this study show that the transverse shear deformations may be larger in fiber directions for higher modes.
