It is observed that YERSIN type or VILLEMIN type tuberculosis occcurs in rabbits, intraveneously injected with tuberculous bacilli of avian type, according to the dose of the bacilli used. From the view point of the allergic study, the YERSIN type change is considered as an anergic septicemia, due to hematogeneous infection of a large quantity of avian type bacilli, in which the short, stormy and lethal course and the remarkable degenerative changes are observed in each organ. When the avian type bacilli, which will develop YERSIN type tuberculosis, was intraveneously injected, after the previous subcutaneous injection of the same bacilli and the acquirement of its response to the tuberculin reaction, the tuberculous change revealed a productive tendency. Also a number of epitheloid cell granulomas developed, which seem to be the result of a local allergic response of rabbit tissue to avian type bacilli. Therefore, when the avian type bacilli was intraveneously administered, after the previously repeated subcutaneous injection of the same type of bacilli, or the human type of bacilli having a common antigenicity with the avian type, numerous epitheloid cell granulmas developed; i. e a VILLEMIN type change occurred. These results indicate that the process of each YERSIN and VILLERMIN type change is asociated with the degree of allergic reaction in rabbit tissue to avian type bacilli.
