• The mixed agglutination reaction was applied directly to the original idea of mixed agglutination applied to tissue culture system developed by Hogman. The antibody attached to the antigens on the living cell surface was demonstrated by sheep erythrocytes bound by and anti-gamma globulin antibody bridge. The complement that combined with the antigen-antibody complex on the living cells was also detected by the indicator cells designed in the same manner as above. The results seemed to indicate that the mixed agglutination technique is the method of choice for investigating the antigenic structure of the cell surface or cell wall and antigen-antibody reactions on the living cell in vitro.
