The relationship between the experimental "Erythron-Allergy" ("E.A.") and the Freunds adjuvant on rabbits were investigated. The allergic reaction could be produced experimentally in rabbits using the adjuvant alone as antigen, and the animals showed "E.A." like anemia. Furthermore they died from anaphylactic shock following the reinjection of so-called erythrocyte cephaline combined with ox serum. The rabbits sensitized with only adjuvant in reduced doses showed "E.A." like anemia following the reinjection of the erythrocyte cephaline combined with ox serum. The rabbits sensitized with adjuvant alone was desensitized by the use of erythrocyte cephaline. Then the erytherocyte cephaline combined with ox serum was reinjected to such desensitized animals and "E.A." like anemia was observed to be inhibited. When the volume of paraffine oil in the adjuvant was increased, "E.A." was produced more stronger and symptoms continued more longer. Furthermore the significance of lipoprotein of tubercle bacilli and paraffine oil in the "E.A." was discussed.
