The effect of plasmin to serum protein was studied both in vivo and in vitro, and further studies on the relations between the activation of plasmin and serum protein fractions in various disease were performed. When plasmin isolated from the dog plasma was intravenously injected to the rabbit, hypo-albumin, hyper-β, γ-globulinemia was pbserved. Similarly, the decreases of albumin and the increase of β, γ-globulin were observed by treating healthy human or rabbit serum with plasmin. A specific precipitation band could be seen in the case of a control serum was observed in the reactions between anti-rabbit serum obtained by sensitizing with plasmin-treated human serum. In anaphylaxis of the rabbit sensitized and shocked with egg-albumin, hypoalbumin, hyper-β, and γ-globulinemia were also demonstrated. In the diseases as like as the livertrouble, malignant tumor, blood diseases, etc. , activation of plasmin in the blood was often demonstrated. In the positive group which plasmin was being activated in a light to a medium degree, the decrease of albumin and the increase of β, γ-globulin were observed, whereas in a highly positive group albumin was noticeably reduced and γ-globulin remarkably increased.
