Renal shock was induced by injecting the anti-rabbit red cell guinea pig serum into the renal artery of the pregnant rabbit and the histological changes in the kidney caused by the reversed anaphylaxis was investigated. In the case autopsied 24th hour after the provocative injection high grade of the stasis and the anaemia of the glomerulus, the swelling and atrophy of the glomerulus, swelling of the endothelial cell of the glomerulus and sometimes swelling of the epithelial cell of the glomerulus were observed. A small amount of hyaline thrombi and eosinophilic substances were found in the glomerular capillaries and Bowman's capsular walls were observed, but the increase lof nuclei was not markable. In the tubules, hemorrhagic or hyaline necrosis were found in large parts of the cortex and the calculos degeneration were seen everywhere. The hydropic angio-swelling of the afferent arterioles, the angio-necrosis of the interlobular arterioles were observed. These histological changes of the kidney in pregnancy induced by the intra-vascular antigen-antibody reaction are very similar to those in the so-called "bilateral hemorrhagic cortical necrosis" by Apitz and in the eclampsia.
