Stability of a Confined Gaseous Diffusion Flame

The blow-out limit of a confined jet diffusion flame is studied with several kinds of fuel except the case when the recirculation occurs. Particularly, the effects of combustor geometries, fuel injector geometries, fuel injector geometries and sorts of fuel on the blow-out limit are the main items studied. First of all, some remarkable effects of combustor geometries are discussed and the effects are concluded to be due to the occurrence of oscillatory combustion. Through the discussions of the normal limit which is not affected by the occurrence of oscillation, some remarks are made on the characteristics of flame base.
