In this paper a numerical analysis and experimental consideration are made on the characteristics of some concrete examples of a plane thrust bearing which consists of a concentric plane surface on a fixed pad and a flat sliding surface on a rotating body simply supported at an end of a driving shaft. This bearing is made to consider the effect of tilting angle between those two surfaces on its characteristics. The accuracy of the numerical analysis is improved by using extrapolation method, and an experiment is performed with a certain particular apparatus. As such examples the hydrostatic and hydrodynamic plane thrust bearings are dealt with. By comparing the results of the numerical analysis with those of the experiment, the validity of the theory described in the 1st report is confirmed. Furthermore, the stability of hydrodynamic plane thrust bearing is considered.
