The ramp response of a pilot operated hydraulic servomechanism under various loads is analyzed. Exct solutions with closed form are obtained for the cases where the inertia load does not exist. The solution under a load involving inertia could not be available in a closed form. The characters of the responses with inertia load are analized using the phase plane, and an analysis using the perturbation method is also performed. If the inertial load is present, the usual method of numerical integration of the differential equation becomes inapplicable because the initial point becomes a singular point. This problem is solved using power series development near the initial point. In the usual application of the hydraulic servomechanism, often a nonsymmetrical cylinder is used. This paper considers such a case also.
