Leadscrews used for machine tool or length measuring machine often act as a standard scale. At the same time high level precision is needed. In this paper the table feed error in the thread grinding machine and the lead error in the ground leadscrew are discussed by use of Fourier analysis. To reduce such errors, a newly designed system is constructed. As a result, a leadscrew with high pitch accuracy can be obtained.
