In this paper, through theoretical discussions and by obtaining numerical examples, the existence of a critical impact velocity is proposed when the end of a thin-walled tube is twisted suddenly, provided that the condition is the same to the case when simple waves propagate as the Karman-Duwez solution. Its existence is also suggested even a combined tension-torsion impact is applied to the end of a tube, and also when an incremental combined tension-torsion impact is applied to the end of the tube on which a combined loading is applied statically.
