[Abstract] : Music education at elementary schools plays a very important role after infant education. For whether children can maintain their interests in music throughout their lives depends on music education in this period. However, the present music education at this level in Japan has lots of problem about content, method, teacher's qualifications and so on. In order to solve these problems, first of all, it is necessary for university music teachers who are involved in music and methodology in music education to graspthe present state of music education and to make a research into teacher –training in music education. Especially, it is essential to grasp what kind of image teacher have on music education at elementary schools. We conducted a Questionnaire survey of 810 elementary school teachers in Yamaguchi Prefecture regarding the present state of music education at elementary schools. In this thesis, We have tried to analyze the results of the questionnaire and to add some Considerations to the obtained data for our future reference.
