An improved conaposite-boson theory of qtrantum Hall ferronaagnets is proposed. It is tightlyrelated with the microscopic wave-function theory. The characteristic feature is that the fieldoperator describes solely the physical degrees of freedotn representing the deviation from theground state. It presents a power['ttl tool to analyze excited states within the lowest Landatt level.Excitations include a Goldstone tnode and nonlocal topological solitons. Solitons are vorticesand Skyrnaions carrying the U(l) and SU(2) tojcological charges, respectively. Their classicalconfigurations are derived fn'om their microscopic wave ftnnctions. The activation energy of oneSkyrrnion is estitaaated, which explains experiznental data remarkably well.
