The energy band structttre of a qtrasi one-dimensional ctrprate SrCuOz is sttrdied by angleresolved photoetnission spectroscopy and the linear augmented-plane-wave band structure cat-culation within local density approxin'xation, It was found that the band strtrcture has stronglyone-dimensional nattrre xvith a finite dispersion along the Ctr-0 chains. The ca[ctrIated bandstrtxctture of SrCuOr is in good agreernent xvith the angle-resolved photoemission result exceptfor the region near the Ferraai level.
