The Shift Exponent of the Layered Square-Lattice Ising Models

Layered square-lattice ferrornagnetic Ising models (c>o x x x n lattices) are studied by the MonteCarlo simulation with the periodic boundary condition(n : 3 x 8) and with the free boundarycondition (n : 4 x 14) in the n-direction. The results show the dimensionality crossover fromthe square-lattice Ising model to the sinaple-cubic [sing model. The shift exponent A shows thesize dependent behavior contrary to the previous results, and goes to about A x 1.60 in the limit,n -+ (XI, for both boundary conditions, which is consistent with A : l/zz3.3.
