A tlaeory of stationary anharmonic localized ntodes in solids with the cubic andhard quartic lattice anharnaonicity is fornaulated. The theory using the lattice-Green'sfunction method is, in principle, applicable to any type of solids, ordered or disor-dered, of any dimension. Nonlinear eigenvalue problenas for a funclantental modeand its laigher harmonics are solved in a successive 11121110(III. The obtaitaed result is il-Iustrated for a #-dimensional version of the simple cubic lattice witlt nearest neighborinteractions to obtain concrete results for tl?e localized-mode frequency, its profilefunctions, lattice distortions, and so on. For extrenae localization, Late stationaryanlaarmonic localized mode is well described by a generalized anharrnonic Einsteinoscillator model.
