Emission characteristics of light radiated from a metal-insulator-metal tunnel juncLion could be controlled by surface and interface rougltnesses. To elucidate thesesituations, surface and interface rouglvnesses of the tunnel junction are evaluated by alight scattering techniqtue developed by our group. Rouglvness parameters obtainedby such a techniqtne are adopted to calculate the emission characteristics of lightradiated from the tunncl junction, compared with experimental emission characteristics. Wavelength spectra of emission intensities are in good agreement, but angulardistributions of emission intensities are not.
