The ESR measurement was carried out in Li, Ag and Au metallic ultra fine particleswhich were produced by the vacuum evaporation. Those specimens had the minimumaverage size of about 17 A. The ESR signal due to the quantum size effect was notdetected in any specimen though the measuring temperature was lowered to 4 K. TheESR line width in Li ultra fine particle was broadened to 14 gauss in the specimenwith the size of 20 A from the line width 0.4 gauss of bulk Li because of the increaseof the surface spin scattering. As to Ag and Au, however, we did not detect the F,SRsignal because of the extreme broadening of the line width.[ultra fine particle, quantum size effect, surface, CESR, small particlel
