Magnetic Phase Diagram of a Random Mixture with Competing Interactions : Co_<1-x>Mn_x Cl_2・2H_2O

Magnetic and thermal properties of Co. .Mn.Cl.? 2H.0 with competing exchangeinteractions have been studied experimentally, For the system with x -0.5, themagnetic heat capacity have revealed only a broad maximum around 5 K, which isquite different from the heat capacity peak of 1-type for the pure systems and similarto that observed in metallic spin-glasses. The hysteresis in the magnetic susceptibilityand thermoremanent magnetization have been observed in the mixtures with ,X'<0.5,reflecting the frustration of magnetic interactions, while normal antiferromagneticbehavior has been seen in tlte region ,X'>0.5. The magnetic phase diagram of thissystem is given, which contains four states: paramagnetic, antiferromagnetic,frustrated antiferromagnetic and anisotropic spirr-glass states.[random mixture, Co. ,Mn.Cl.?2H.0 frustration, competing interactions, in- ll sulating spin-glass, phase diagraml
