Excitation functions of (cc, xn yp zcx) reactions on "Nov auad "'Tm have beenmeasured upto 50 MeV by stacked-foil activation technique x.vith a view to improvethe quality of data in the case of "'Tm, which was earlier measttred with a poor resolulion scintillation detector. Cc>mparisons are presented with the predictions of tltreepre-equilibrium models (i.e. [Exciton, Hybrid and Irtclex Moclels). While for (a, xn)type of reactions reasonably explainable pre-courx)oound cccntribtutions are f'ound,there seem to be indications of direct inelastic scattering efl'ccts in (a, cxxn) type ol'reactions in medium and heavy nuclei.
