• The second emission band (the E. band) which is observable only at low tempera-lures is found in NaBr:Cu" at 4.11 eV (302 nm) through excitation at 5.06 eV (245nm). The excitation spectrum at low temperatures shows a peak corresponding to theD. absorption peak. The activation energies of thermal bleaching for the E. band andthe known E. band are identified as 0.06 eV and 0.57 eV, respectively. The qualitativeenergy diagram for the emission process is shown.Cu center, off-center, emission spectra
